Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Nadine Koller

Hello fellow crafters.  Todays Blog hop brief is to CASE the amazingly talented Nadine Koller.
If you get a chance it is really worthwhile having a look at her blog and Pinterest page as they are full of amazing creations.  Despite a plethora of wonderful cards to CASE, I chose to turn this beautiful package into a card and include some of the new In Colour cardstock.  I just adore the Black, White and Gold theme of this package and think it is just perfect as it is, alas I am required to Selectively Edit this project.

This is Nadine's amazing creation:

This is my test card.  I have been asked to make a 21st birthday card "in girly colors that can have money inside for a gift"
I used this card as a bit of a practice run at making an insert pocked on the inside to contain the money.  There actual birthday card will be taller and not square so as to allow extra length for the money, and probably much closer in style to Nadines - because I love it just the way it is.

This is the inside of the card showing the sleeve for inserting the gift money and a couple of photos showing how it was assembled from 2 pieces of cardstock, Whisper White and Powder Pink, and stuck together

The Floral embellishment was make by die cutting 3 colours of cardstock with the Flourish Thinlits in Gold, Powder Pink and Lemon Lime Twist from the new In Colours.  The offcuts from the coloured cardstock were placed back into the gold diecut to fill the empty spaces.

I used the Delicate Details Stamp Set to create the patterned paper and stamped the sentiments with the new Daisy Delight Stamp Set. I used one of the new Gold Faceted Gems for the flower centre and some Whisper White ribbon for the tag.

I hope you enjoyed my card.  Thankyou Nadine for the inspiration.

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Lea Denton

I have taken up the challenge to enter a Blog Hop for the first time and chose the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop CASEing Lea Denton.
The hardest part of the challenge was choosing only one of her beautiful cards to CASE.
In the end I went for one of her simple ones.  I don't own the stamp set she used so substituted with the Penned and Painted set,  I blinged it up a little with some gold ribbon and white heat embossed a flower on gold paper to create the accent.  I kept the colours similar as I loved how Lea's popped on the Crumbcake Cardstock.

This was the card I chose to CASE

And this is my CASE

Thankyou for visiting by blog.  Feel free to leave any comments you like. Be sure to visit the next awesome Crazy Crafter's blog by clicking on the person below me.

2 for 1 Card

Hello to all my crafty friends.  Today I made a couple of cards that I have been itching to get to for a while now.  These cards are CASE'd from the amazingly talented Jennifer McGuire. Unfortunately she is not a Stampin Up Demonstrator, so I had to try and find a stamp set that would do the job.  I settled on the Penned and Painted set as I needed outline flowers to complete the project.

These are the cards I made.

These cards require heat embossing, lots of stamping, and some watercolouring.
2 card fronts are created using the exact same stamped image twice.  One is stamped in black ink and watercoloured, and the other is stamped with Versamark and clear heat embossed.

I used Watermelon Wonder and Whisper White Cardstock and watercoloured the images with a paintbrush and Inks.  I used Flirty Flamingo, Peakaboo Peach, Pear Pizzaz and Crumbcake.  That was the quick part!

The clear embossed Watermelon Wonder card front was a little more time intensive, but a lot of fun to create.  Each flower and leaf had to be individually stamped and heat embossed separately.  I used my MISTI  to recreate the same pattern as the watercoloured page.

Then I chopped them up!

I cut about 2.5cm off the bottom of each piece. I took a further centimeter off the bottom of the larger piece to allow the sentiment strip to go between the two pieces and not distort the picture.

I then heat embossed a sentiment from the Falling in Love stamp set using White embossing powder on Black cardstock.

Then stick it all together.......

Ta Da!  2 cards from one watercoloured image. I'm thinking some watercolour pencils might need to make it onto my next order.
